She has developed great as a mom, she has all my respect, she has fed the storklets for the most part without the fish basket

Hi Pinki,
I agree with you - in my opinion Kaia is great food provider for the storklets in these hard weeks.
Good bye visit is typical for males, but some times we see also females visiting the nest before they leave the area.
A day of absence doesn't have to mean leaving parenting duties behind for the season, but it is possible.

Good morning!

OOh what a busy morning the storklets had! I already scrolled back a little to watch.
I will add some events chronologically now.

05.14 Iks casts a pellet.
05.19 Bonus casts a pellet.
05.37 Waba casts a pellet.

edit: 05.40 Karl feeding (1) a huge pile of fish.


06.02 Waba on the curved branch


07.03 Even Iks is running and jumping around very energetically. Training hard.


There is a visible restlessness among all the storklets this morning. They feel the urge to take the next step. They train a lot, look outside the nest.
