In 1860, a sugar factory started operating in Porechye. It was considered the best among the sugar beet factories of the Minsk province. It was a steam engine and was equipped with the most advanced equipment of that time.
He occupied a brick four-story building, the construction of which cost up to 30 thousand silver. The plant produced four times more sugar than five factories in the province. In 1861, the production of the plant amounted to 9 thousand pounds.
Beets were successfully grown by peasants living closer to the plant, with income from which they noticeably improved their economic situation. In 1879, the plant burned down and no longer resumed its activities. In 1889 the building was converted into a distillery with a steam engine and ten workers. The plant was the only one in the Minsk province for the production of purified alcohol. His large three-story building has survived to this day. It is brick, the blind planes of the transverse walls are crowned with attics with turrets, decorated with regular groups of decorative elements: horizontal and vertical belts, rows of blind niches, rustication stripes, and rectangular windows.
