- Onyks is resting in Ukraine, 20 km south of Medyka (as of August 26, 16:00).
- Oskar – no new data since August 21, indicating a logger failure.
- Oda is bravely heading south as of August 26. She is currently over the Danube, just downstream of Belgrade. A new reading from the evening of August 26 showed that she had flown upstream, indicating she is taking a break from her migration to forage.

Spotkanie z Piotrem Zielińskim:
PiotrZielinskiUL ale dzisiaj złe wieści. Pojechaliśmy na łąkę obok stawów 5 km od gniazda. Na łące w miejscu gdzie 20.08 o 11:00 loger Oskara podał koordynaty była tylko sterta piór. Czyli Oskar był już wtedy martwy. Niedaleko była kolejna kupka piór, loger i obrączka biała, metalowej nie udało się znaleźć. Loger Oskara był wciśnięty w trawę, solarem do ziemi. Czyli solar nie widział słońca i loger się rozładował. Loger nie widział też satelitów i nie mógł wysłać kolejnej wiadomości. Z Oskara zostały tylko pióra. Nie było żadnej nogi, ani skrzydeł, nie wiadomo co się stało. Prawdopodobny scenariusz: niedoświadczony Oskar poleciał na stawy, tam regularnie polują bieliki. Możliwe, że od razu został zastrzelony (mało prawdopodobne) lub skutecznie zaatakowany przez bielika, bielik podjadł i odleciał, a resztką zainteresowały się dziki, które przeciągnęły reszki w stronę zarośli, a następnie go rozerwały, dzięki czemu obrączka i loger z niego spadły, jeden lis by tego nie zrobił, ale stadko dzików już tak, zasami stawowi strzelają do czapli, to się zdarza. Ale tam jest to mało prawdopodobne, czyli raczej bielik. na stawach hodowlanych właściciel może wystąpic do RDOSIu o zgodę na odstrzał czapli @PiotrZielinskiUL właśnie doszły nowe dane. Oda nad Cisą w tej samej okolicy, co ostatnio. Onyks na Ukrainie pod Medyką, żeruje na stawach rybnych, wyraźnie się przemieszczają w ciągu dnia.

PiotrZielinskiUL - 20.08 Oskar wyleciał z gniazda, nie miał żadnego doświadczenia jak się zachować. Taki niedoświadczony młody nie ma szans, to łatwa ofiara. Trudno, musimy się z tym pogodzić. 4 wyleciały z gniazda, z Polski już tylko 2.

bad news today. We drove to a meadow next to the fish ponds, 5 km from the nest. At the spot in the meadow where Oskar’s logger had transmitted coordinates on August 20th at 11:00 AM, there was nothing but a pile of feathers.This means Oskar was already dead by then. Nearby, there was another small pile of feathers, the logger, and the white leg ring; the metal ring could not be found.
Oskar’s logger was pressed into the grass with its solar panel facing the ground. Consequently, the solar panel couldn't see the sun, and the logger ran out of power. The logger also couldn't detect satellites and was unable to send another message.
Nothing remained of Oskar but feathers. There were no legs or wings; it is unknown exactly what happened. A likely scenario: the inexperienced Oskar flew to the fish ponds, where white-tailed eagles regularly hunt. It is possible he was either shot immediately (though unlikely) or successfully attacked by a white-tailed eagle; the eagle ate its fill and flew off, leaving the remains to wild boars, which dragged the carcass toward the thicket and tore it apart, causing the ring and logger to fall off. A single fox wouldn't have done this, but a sounder of boars certainly could.
Sometimes people at fish ponds shoot at herons—that does happen—but it’s unlikely in this specific location, so a white-tailed eagle is the more probable culprit. At fish farms, the owner can apply to the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection (RDOŚ) for permission to cull herons.
