Short history of previous seasons

2025 season (in our forum: viewtopic.php?f=156&t=272)
27 March both storks afternoon in nest. Nesting failed.

2024 season (no streaming)
27 March first stork returned to the nest, second seen in 1 April
3-5 April snow in forest and in nest
15 May first head of chick noticed
22 May intruder stork in nest, adult repelling of it
1 June all five chicks clearly visible
2 August last chick visible in nest branch
4 August last adult on trail cam photo

Location & residents

The Black Stork nest camera is situated in Jõgeva County in Estonia. We have known about this breeding site since the early 1990s, but in turning times surrounding of nest was cut, nest abandoned and later nest tree (old birch) broke. Nest in current situation was found by Renno Nellis in mid March 2024. He installed trail camera there in neighbour tree, therefore we know that in 2024 in this nest fledged five chicks.
In terms of streaming it is quite difficult place - low network and long distance to carry equipment, if needed. So, in case of no transmission, we need to wait.

On 3 April at 9:31 one BS arrived to the nest.
Today morning stork has already begun refurbishing the nest, carrying in large branches. This suggests stork is familiar with this nest.
