LโEnte Parco Regionale Gallipoli Cognato Piccole Dolomiti Lucane annuncia con entusiasmo lโinizio della nuova stagione riproduttiva della cicogna nera (Ciconia nigra), una delle specie piรน rare e affascinanti dellโavifauna europea.
In coincidenza con lโinizio della primavera, le cicogne hanno fatto ritorno nel Parco segnando ufficialmente lโavvio di un nuovo ciclo riproduttivo. Un evento atteso e significativo, che conferma ancora una volta il ruolo strategico del territorio del Parco come habitat ideale per questa specie migratrice e particolarmente sensibile ai cambiamenti ambientali.
Da anni lโEnte Parco รจ impegnato in unโintensa attivitร di monitoraggio delle coppie nidificanti. Questo lavoro รจ condiviso con il pubblico grazie alla webcam attiva su uno dei nidi, che consente a cittadini, appassionati e studiosi di osservare da vicino il comportamento di questa specie.
Tra i progetti piรน innovativi, lo studio di telemetria satellitare, primo in Italia sulla cicogna nera, ha consentito di seguire i movimenti migratori di tre giovani esemplari nati nel 2025 nel territorio del Parco. Monitorate fin dalla nascita e dotate di trasmettitori, le cicogne hanno fornito dati preziosi sulle rotte verso lโAfrica, sulle aree di svernamento e sulle strategie di adattamento della specie, offrendo un contributo significativo alla ricerca scientifica e alla conservazione
Il ritorno delle cicogne nel 2026 rinnova quindi lโimpegno dellโEnte Parco nella tutela della biodiversitร e nella promozione della conoscenza ambientale.
