Čáp černý Krum
Když jsme v létě 2023 kroužkovali a osazovali baťůžky s Lubošem a Dušanem naše dvě mláďata černých čápů, nikdo by asi nevěřil, že jeden z nich, Krum, nám za tři roky bude stále vysílat a možná se i letos uvidíme. Tři roky zimoval v Bulharsku na stejném místě a letos, před třemi dny se po půl roce na zimovišti vydal zpět. Za tři dny uletěl 950km přes Bulharsko, Srbsko, Maďarsko a dnes ve 14 hod byl přesně nad Bratislavou! Kam nakonec zamíří nevíme, ale je možné, že již letos zahnízdí, což by bylo skvělé. Držte mu palce, jestli se nepletu, je to první takhle dlouho monitorovaný černý čáp v Čechách.

Black Stork Krum
When we were ringing and fitting 'backpacks' (transmitters) on our two black stork chicks with Luboš and Dušan back in the summer of 2023, no one would have believed that one of them, Krum, would still be transmitting three years later—and that we might even see him again this year. For three years, he wintered at the exact same spot in Bulgaria, and three days ago, after six months at his wintering grounds, he started his journey back. In just three days, he flew 950 km across Bulgaria, Serbia, and Hungary, and today at 2 PM, he was exactly over Bratislava! We don’t know where he will eventually head, but it’s possible he might even nest this year, which would be fantastic. Keep your fingers crossed for him; if I’m not mistaken, he is the first black stork in Czechia to be monitored for such a long time.
