Bird Profile:

• Sex: "probably a female bird"

• Age: unknown, adult

• Origin: unknown (caught 2024 - Pärnu County, summer 2025 - Russia, around Pskov

• Wintering ground: 1st site: Sudan (Sennar State), 2nd site/second half of wintering: Ethiopia (Oromia Region)

• 2nd spring migration (tagged on 21.07.2024)

TRAUMA

birdmap description (2024)
A Black Stork caught in Pärnumaa County, probably a female bird. Its breeding is unknown because it was caught at the end of the breeding season. She got its name from the fact that during the installation of the transmitter, an old but healing ulcer appeared on the side of the body - probably trauma from some kind of collision.
Black Storks were fed at the fishing site since the beginning of May, but it is not entirely certain whether there was only one specimen or several.
Trauma started its 2024 autumn migration on July 25, but not immediately towards the wintering area, but spent time in Latvia, Belarus and Lithuania. The migration stopover is located in northwestern Turkey on the Ergene River.

Trauma continued to the north and spent the summer in Russia near Pskov and it is possible that Trauma has found a nest there. (thx to Madli)
