the autumn birdmap starts with data from August 15
The spring/summer migration stops in mid-August and the autumn/winter migration continues from the following day, the 15th = the bird map is set for autumn/winter migration and the new distance measurement starts from 15.08. However, the birdmap is sometimes ready a week or two later.

in this thread we follow Vihm from the in Pärnu County - offspring of Kergu and Kerli (we follow Iksi's 1st autumn migration)

"The transmitter of Vihm, one of Kergu's young storks, responded and showed its location as Lithuania around 17:00 today. Yesterday, when it left the nest, Vihm began heading south.
(Toots's transmitter was out of range at 17:03 today.)"

Vihm's migration today. The transmitter sent its location points at 17:05, so we can't see where it ends up by the evening on the same day. The young stork really had both courage and strength to cross the Gulf of Riga on its very first flight.

It landed on a nearby field and then spent the night on the roofs of old barn buildings. The village name is probably Mazlauki.

Today, Vihm decided to stop for the night in Slovakia, resting in a field quite close to the border. His flight for the day covered over 500 km.
