NAMING: 719T - Tootsi (Big- 1st chick) / 719V - Vihm (Middle - 2nd) / 719X - Iksi (Little - 3rd)
AGE: 1st chick - 83 days old; 2nd chic - 82 days; 3rd chick - 80 days old
4th egg did not hatch
MAIDEN FLIGHTS: 1st chick/Tootsie - 04.08/72 days old; 3rd chick/Iksi - 05.08/71 days old; 2nd chick/Vihm - 08.08/76 days old
Better results are in surviving of the chicks which spend longer time in nest after fledging, means they return to the nest and step by step get independent, but are still getting food from parents in nest. For another 2-4 weeks after being able to fly they will go to the nest at night or rest at the nest.
PL study: in 2022–2023, 34 young storks were equipped with GPS-GSM backpack loggers. On average, birds had left the nest by the 87th day of life. (maximum of 108 days)
