Yesterday was a ringing of three chicks. Timing was chosen according visual estimation of development of chicks. It was too late to go there in light time already. In darkness there is also very low possibility to meet adults, to disturb them at nesting. Of course, our activities in darkness are limited, not so easy to perform. Yesterday there was rain shower afternoon, the water was still on vegetation, so we got wet during walk through high grass and bushes. Many thanks to Raivo, Roland and Madli, for your help in this ringing event!
The cam was switched off during ringing event, to feel a bit more relaxed after tough trip to the nest. All activity was done on ground and then chicks lift up again. Still the oldest chick jump out of nest, after other two on ground already.
The measurements of chicks:
719T (+A16055 in left tarsus) - 2900g, wing 506mm, beak 135mm
719V (+A16056) - 2810g, wing 490mm, beak 132 mm
719X (+A16057 - 2430g, wing 455mm, beak 116
According these measurements
No visible damages on chicks. Leeches were not checked.
