- timing depends on 1/ specific project goals, 2/ site accessibility, and 3/ individual chick behaviour
- chick age 45–55 is the best time for action transmitter (if goal is post-fledge tracking), but there is greater risk of premature fledging
- btw. ringing + transmitter: 58 days old/2019 Oru, Aru - both jumped/flew out; 55, 55, 53 days old/2023 Kalvi, Kiire, Kerri - 2 jumped/flew out (all the others actions were earlier)
