11.47 Kaia makes a regurgitating attempt, but she stops and swallows the food back down.




Kaia goes to stand on the curved branch.
11.58 Kaia goes to stand next to the kids- no feeding.

12.34 KARL brings more moss.


Both storks stay in the nest.


The chicks are twittering. I think Karl feels tre urge to feed them, but he doesn't want to do it while Kaia is in the nest. He waits for Kaia to leave, but Kaia doesn't want to leave..
Kaia walks around the nest, occasionally talking to Karl..


12.42 Kaia leaves the nest.
Kaia was in the nest for 59 minutes.

12.46 The chicks start twittering again.
Karl is now ready to feed them.

12.48 FEEDING (3) Big weatherfish(?). All the chicks eat several fish.




After feeding Karl spends a lot of time carefully grooming the chicks.

13.29 Karl leaves the nest. Chicks are now alone.
Karl's nest duty was 55 minutes.


Most of the time since that last feeding #1 and #2 have been active, #3 is sleeping.

When #1 and #2 go to sleep, #3 wakes up.

15.11 KARL arrives.
Chicks were alone for 1 h 42 min.


15.12 FEEDING (4) A few more long, dark fish. Can't tell if it's the weatherfish or the lamprey..but each chick gets one.
