every year on this nest the chicks are ringed (by prof. PZ) and got the name from the FB members https://www.facebook.com/groups/bocianyczarneonline (voting)

FB Regionalna Dyrekcja Lasów Państwowych w Łodzi

FB news July 16 (2021): video from ringing (you can see prof. PZ)

FB news July 20 (2021): chicks got names: FELEK💚FREZJA🖤FLOREK💚
(https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 38#p818438 by me)

btw. in 2021 they ringed and equipped with transmitters as many as 19 chicks of black stork in the forests of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Łódź (In 2020: 15 transmitters for black stork chicks in the forests of RDLP in Łódź )

CHICKS ALONE
Today our storks were alone 5 x from 4:27 to 7:26, from 7:49 to 10:33, from 10:49 to 11:40, from 14:10 to 17:01, from 18:39 to 18: 41.

DELIVERIES
Today's deliveries were the same as yesterday, i.e. 1 by Flo mech. (Yesterday we had 1 deliveries from Fer dry grass.)

FEEDINGS
Today's feed was 7, Flo x 4 Fer x 3 (for comparison yesterday was 6 feedings, Flo x 3 and Fer x 3).

Storks more and more often stand on their straight legs and stand for a long time, also exercise their wings.

Flo stays in the nest for the night.

So many news for today.

And I'm very happy that everything is working great in the nest and the chicks are happy and growing well!
Do you know if they will be ringed / named at some time?
Madi, I'm glad that you like my entries, they are definitely not as good as Piotr's, but it's always something :) As for the ringing in July, but I do not know the specific date, as soon as I have information, I will let you know. Best regards, have a nice evening

Chicks almost unrecognizable. Only the egg did not change (it did not grow) 🤣.

SUPPLy
Today there was no supply.

CHANGE
There was only one change. Because they are no longer waiting for each other to change, so the exchange will concern a situation when there is even a minimal tab in the stay of Flo and Fer on the nest. I will be giving these exchanges based on the update from Larysa, because these cases will be less and less frequent. And thanks to this, it will be possible to go back and watch them together.

FEEDING
Feeding - Flo x 3, Fer x 3.

CHICKS ALONE
chicks are left alone for many hours. It was clearly visible on 10.06. The chicks were then left alone for 6h 53 minutes, then they were 22 days old, and today they are 24 days old. They are constantly guarded in the evenings and at night.

TRANSMITTER
- stork from Spala (hatched 2020) - Złaków by Słudwia - no changes.
- stork from Piotrków (hatched 2020) - Moldova on the Kosym River - it is near the border with Ukraine - a slight shift.
- stork from Kutno (hatched 2021) - N. is still flying. Passed Zielona Góra and is on the Odra river near Krosno Odrzańskie.

DELIVERY
material delivery x 0

FEEDINGs
- feeding Flo x 3, Fer x 3
- at 7:47 Flo brought the whale hatchlings. They couldn't swallow it. Flo swallows it back, but at 9:24 am, less than two hours later, Flo regurgitated the whale and one of the chicks swallows it. A slight digestion and mucus covering was enough, and the second time it went smoothly
oddly enough, the next time the chick is fed, it does not lie on the nest but eats frogs as if it were hungry! This whale (a carp, I think) was so big that Flo had trouble swallowing it the first time. oddly enough, the next time the chick is fed, it does not lie on the nest but eats frogs as if it were hungry! This whale (a carp, I think) was so big that Flo had trouble swallowing it the first time. So, judging by the size of eaten victims, our chicks are already large. These are food processing dragons. Alternatively, it could be that the rain had less time to forage and Fer flew out to make up for it. That is, this is the case that Fermina was feeding too short and she flew to forage and had time to come back. 19:31:51 deer (our friend's) visit
The chicks would eat something else.

WEATHER
more or less, but it was raining almost all day

CHANGE
change of parents at the nest was at 9:54 and 14:56

TRANSMITTERS
- nothing has changed
- the one from Kutno will probably stay on the Odra for a longer time.

A movie with the whale at 7:47

Zdzisław
Are the parents not getting along and the little ones will be left alone for the night?
Piotr Zieliński
@ Zdzisław - this is how it looks, they did not stay overnight.
If they don't come back for the night tomorrow, they'll be leaving them already. At night, bird predators do not threaten them. But mammals - pine marten and raccoons - by all means. Racoonn (Procyon lotor) was not on our nest, but he did appear on a few others. Better not to visit ours.

DEIVERIES
Small deliveries, but there were: Flo x 2, Fer x 1st

FEEDINGs
feeding, Flo x 5, Fer x 3.
Flo had little feeding problems today. He brought little, which is probably due to the fact that yesterday it rained almost all day and it was difficult for him to catch anything in the water. 9:08 brought almost nothing. Fer had no problem catching frogs.
Our chicks are pretty because: they are well fed, parents care for plumage of their offspring and takes care of the own feathers

CHANGEs
There were two exchanges on the nest: 6:39 and 19:12.

CHICKS ALONE
chicks are left alone for longer and longer: today 10h and 2 minutes.

07:18:49 - deer visit (runs from left to right)
08:29:00 - these are two martens are speeding (on the forest floor) .

Jolanta Kuligowska
Piotr, martens are still dangerous for the chicks?
Piotr Zieliński
So Jolanta, when the marten is hungry, it can be dangerous for the chicks. But their main food are rodents, so they should not be interested in storks while the raccoon (Procyon lotor) is a typical food opportunist. Eats anything that is edible. They do not specialize.

TRANSMITTERS
- they have probably stabilized their positions, ie Ukraine / Moldova; Słudwia valley; the Odra valley near Krosno Odrzańskie

CHICKS ALONE
At night, the chicks were alone for the first time.
Flo left them yesterday and welcomed Flo with breakfast this morning as well. In total, from departure in the evening to this morning, it was only 13h 39 min. so far it is their longest loneliness, uninterrupted by stones. These feedings were milestones in their loneliness at night. Flo must have flew away somewhere. Most departures are several kilometers, but from time to time they fly further.

DELIVERIES
Deliveries x 0.

FEEDING
feeding Flo x 2, Fer x 4. He is looking for (?) - probably new, richer feeding grounds. If he brings a whale or a bucket of general cargo tomorrow morning, it will be confirmed.

TRANSMITTERS
- forest district Piotrków 2022 - Ukraine / Moldova
- forest district Kutno 2021 - no changes on the Odra river
- forest district Spała 2020 - change here: stork abandoned the s-m store and flew to the other side of the Vistula. It is between Płock and Toruń. it is right in front of Lipno
those from 2020 should be moving a lot, as they are to look for a breeding place next year

DELIVERIES
- today 0x

FEEDINGs
- Flo x 2, Fer x 3 (day is long, Fer was looking for frogs almost till the end of the day, but she managed to come back and feed the chicks)

In the morning Fer left the chicks at 5:43. At 6:25 Flo flew in and fed the chicks with frogs, that is, he did not find the expected Eldorado. But he brought what he found, which was the frogs. Besides, Fer didn't arrive until 1:10 pm, and there should be more Żabek around. There aren't any lines in them. ”Fer's next feed was not until 4:56 pm, so it's hard for them to find food. And they don't want to come with a few frogs, so they keep looking and looking. Maybe when the cloudy water drains after the storm, Flo will return to the fish. That would be the best.

It is unknown where Flo is, and Fer is nearby, though not on a nearby, but on a "lower" branch
Katarzyna Tomecka - It wouldn't be fun for the night without care
Piotr Zieliński @Katarzyna Tomecka - she is nearby, but it's a poor vigilance (poor wakefulness)

VISITs
There were no visits to/at our nest and it is not known where our storks visited ;-)

TRANSMITTERs
- stork from the forest district Piotrków (hatched 2020): poorly, flew 200 km to the N (north) and is in central Ukraine
- stork from the forest district Spała (hatched 2020): Toruń passed, flew to the N (north) and is sleeping near Wąbrzeźno
- stork from the forest district Kutno (hatched 2021): no changes, on the Odra river
