Hello everyone

we have the first birdmap update https://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN/2024/aut ... =0&speed=1

- 07.09.2024; 2297 km
- Romania: Răchitoasa (originally Giurgeni Noi) - a former village; it belonged to the Giurgeni commune
(Following the 1970 floods, the villages of Piua Petrii and Răchitoasa were disbanded in 1977, after the inhabitants left them.)

Kuremari's location on the birdmap is on the fields (she moved from the Insula Mică a Brăilei /Small Island of Braila)

Kuremari is on the fields to the west from the Danube there (nearest village is Berteștii de Sus). For night she moved to the Vărsătura Island.

September 09

Kuremari is still in that area. On this day she moved not far to the north - fields with melioration canal (former rice fields) to the east from the village Polizești. For night resting she flew to the river bank (Danube)

Kuremari flew from Polizesti area in the evening back to the south - she searched for food in the melioration canals there and moved for night resting to the Vărsături Island.
Is is one of the 7 smaller islets in the area of the Small Islands of Braila - a group of wetlands in the Lower Danube area/Natural Park Small Wetland of Brăila (Ramsar site).

NEW data:
- 11.09.2024, 2363 (+ 40 km in 2 days)
- Romania: Răchitoasa (originally Giurgeni Noi) - a former village; it belonged to the Giurgeni commune in Ialomița County (Muntenia)

On 11.09 Kuremari flew from Polizesti to the north (north from Stăncuța she turned back) and spent the time (searching for food and resting) to the west from the Ostrovul/Islet Vărsătura on the fields with melioration canals. She moved for night resting again to that islet (Balta Mică a Brăilei Natural Park).
