The female arrived at the nest and fed the chicks (there were three active feeders), but this does not make the situation in the nest of the black stork easier, because the rearing of the chicks as a single parent fails.
Today, Urmas Sellis and Madis Leivits from the University of Life Sciences had planned Plan B, which must be rethought according to what is happening.

yes, there is a visible difference. He's moving, he's active, I don't see why he wasn't interested in food. In this situation, feed intake is very important.

after the long starvation, perhaps the large dose of food caused him/her some problems (this storklet is the youngest, smallest now), so little one just rested - spent

There was suggestion about to adopt chicks or part of them in other nests of Black Stork.
We know well only two more nests with cameras, both with three-four chicks in there. In Estonia here could be more suitable nests, but we can't go and check, as it means disturbance. To understand, what is in nest really, we need to climb up. Nest visit is serious disturbance in current stage of brood. We can't visit nest now without of noticed by adult(s). If the chicks are older and both adults forage same time, we quite often ring them not seeing adults. Probability for such case is quite high in July, sometimes also in late June.
Everybody here noticed, what means disturbance during current stage of breeding - adult does not want to come in disturbed nest. Of course, there are differences between individuals and single adult is special case. Normally, second adult would not to know, what visitor was at nest. That could balance the affect of disturbance, but we do not want to test it...

Fish restaurant is not visited by clients, according the camera nearby there. No surprise, Janika has been at nest and other storks rarely appear here.
