16.58 FEEDING (12) Kaia calls #3 privately and regurgitates a big pile of soft and small fish. A smaller pile rolls down in front of the little chick. #3 quickly grabs many big bites! At the end #1 and #2 join, Kaia has eaten back most of the pile by then.

Has anyone heard the 4th egg today? Or seen any progress?
I don't think it's going to hatch..most probably the "pips" were only dirt. Even now the egg looks very dirty. Plus today is 32 days after its laid.

17.33 Kaia stands up, the chicks are all singing in chorus again Kaia takes a moment to preen herself, then starts to guide the chicks and look for a suitable spot...#1 is trying to grab Kaia's bill!

17.35 FEEDING (13) Kaia regurgitates the food pile right in front of the chicks. All eat! To me it seems that #3 got the most! YES!

18.11 Kaia stands up, #3 quickly crawls on the edge of the nest bowl! I think he has learned a few tricks already Kaia only preens them, no feeding this time.


18.39 FEEDING(14) Soft pile of fish mash falls right in front of the little one! Now he knows how to quickly be at the right place! All three start to devour the pile...#1 grabs a big piece, #3 pulls it away from #1 and chugs it down its throat! The bigger ones eat rater politely..




19.08 Kaia stands up to preen the chicks. #3 is still in food coma so sleepy.

19.38 Kaia is in a flat position- to let air under the wings and cool down the chicks a little? Also there are lots of bugs flying around..mosqitos maybe.

20.03 Kaia stands up to take care of the chicks. She preens them and wakes them up from their nice nap. The chicks are not hungry at the moment. They just want to sleep..



20.08 Karl arrives! Kaia greets him and leaves. Karl looks at his sleeping kids.
Kaia's nest duty was 3 h 27 min.

20.29 Karl stands and the kids greet him. The bigger ones have long necks..and little #3 greets too..but falls over


Karl starts to call the chicks to the table, everyone follow the red bill
At first #3 is behind the big ones, but then manages to get in the middle.

20.29 FEEDING (15) Karl offers a lot of weatherfish. They are all huge! And not yet consumable for the chicks. Karl regurgitates another, smaller pile right in front of #3, who has now moved to the side..but still no use. Only #1 manages to swallow a big fish!.






#1 still struggles with the fish tail after the feeding..it's too huge!

21.01 FEEDING (16) Only #2 eats a whole smaller fish. #3 is sleeping...and #1 still has a fishtail out from its mouth.


21.29 Karl stands to aerate the nest. All the chicks are sleeping.
21.55 Karl makes a PS, takes care of the chicks and the nest. Everyone is blissfully sleeping

22.22 Nightvision turned on.
