btw.
- Karl II incubates the eggs 5 days without change (Kaia left the eggs in her first season with Karl II in 2015)
- prof. PZ: but these 5 days were of extreme value, at the limit of the stork's physiological capabilities

we will see when and what female decides to do

- we don't know nothing (as you know, he is without transmitter)
.....
2/
- in this kind of situations parents leave the nest in search of food, although the storklets are too young to be left alone
.....
3/
- it is especially bad situation for No5 (little one is the smallest and weak - a/ it doesn't last long without food or b/ the female may try to swallow it)
.....
Thank you Marika, it is a terrible and difficult situation for a female. Every option a woman chooses is difficult. Ideally, Jan would return, but with each passing hour, his chances diminished (couldn't anyone go looking for him?).

without transmitter data, we have no idea where to look for him - their territory is very big (M can be anywhere within a radius of 10 - 20 km around the nest or more)
France:
- 55% of cases within 10 km from the nest, 89% within a distance of 20 km, and a maximum of 23 km
- during the chick feeding period, the pair forage in the area of up to 870 km2 (!), and after the chicks' departure up to 1120 km2

I know it's an impossible mission. At least we want to do something, but we are powerless.
