Karl was brooding the eggs all night without an exchange, Kaia slept on the lower branch.

04.39 Karl is taking care of the eggs.


05.02 Kaia flew away. She didn't come to the nest first.

09.22 Kaia comes home. Karl waits a few seconds to stand up..but as soon as Karl stands, Kaia immediately moves to take care of the eggs.
Karl's incubation shift was 11 h 59 min


09.22 Karl flies out.
09.23 Kaia covers the eggs.

09.29 Karl stats to bring in new material- a twig, moss 2x,


09.39 Karl flies out after final delivery.


BTW..A cuckoo is heard in the backround! I haven't heard them yet this year

11.19 Kaia feels hot, her mouth is open and she is banting- birds use this method for thermoregulation. But she is still very pretty

12.41 and 12.43 Gunshots somewhere? Kaia hears them and listenes, but she is not very bothered..

16.32 Karl comes back! Kaia stands and leaves, Karl immediately takes care of the eggs.
Kaia's incubation shift was 7 h 9 min.


16.33 Karl continues incubation.

22.15 It is now dark and Karl spends the night alone. Kaia did not return to the nest.

Eggs are 13/11/8/6 days old today.

Incubation:

The night passed calmly for Karl, who was incubating the eggs alone in the nest.

06.58 Karl was rolling the eggs and had a PS that looked green..


08.13 Kaia comes back! They have a very short greeting. Karl stands up and leaves.
Karl's incubation duty was 15 h 40 min


08.14 Kaia continued incubation.
