Wydarzenia na dębie w woj. łódzkim w sezonie 2023

W naszym gnieździe bocianów czarnych w maju roku 2023 wykluły się 4 pisklęta. Niestety, pierwsze zginęło 17 maja pośrednio wskutek ataku puszczyka na Ferminę, a drugie porwał jastrząb 5 dni później. Na straży był oczywiście dorosły bocian, jednak drapieżnik okazał się sprytniejszy, szybszy, doświadczony... obniżył lot i porwał największe młode. Pozostały dwa.

6.06.2023 większy pisklak ma już 22 dni, a mniejszy 20 dni. W tym wieku pisklęta są już zwykle zostawiane bez opieki. Teraz jednak Florentino i Fermina3 dobrze wiedzą, że jastrząb może pojawić się w każdej chwili i opóźniają zostawienie piskląt. Mogą tak zrobić, gdyż mają tylko dwa pisklęta do wykarmienia. Jednak potrzeby pokarmowe piskląt będą coraz większe i rodzice wkrótce będą musieli zaryzykować - podsumowuje prof. Zieliński.

16.06.2023 o 21:01:56 jastrząb ponownie zaatakował gniazdo naszych bocianów czarnych. Gniazda pilnowała Fermina, ale była odwrócona tyłem do piskląt, w efekcie za późno zauważyła nadlatującego drapieżnika i jastrząb porwał drugie już pisklę.

Błyskawicznie zanurkował z ofiarą w krzaki rosnące pod gniazdem. Fermina rzuciła się w dół za jastrzębiem, ale jastrząb czując na karku pogoń porzucił pisklę i błyskawicznie odleciał w głąb lasu. Fermina szybko zorientowała się, że nie dopadnie jastrzębia i wróciła na gniazdo pilnować ostatnie pisklę. Później jastrząb wrócił do swojej ofiary i częściowo ją zjadł. Ale pod gniazdem po posiłku jastrzębia został tylko puch, trochę krwi i powyrywane przez jastrzębia pióra. Widocznie resztkami pisklęcia, pozostałymi po posiłku jastrzębia, musiał zająć się jakiś lądowy drapieżnik – lis lub pies.

Na gnieździe zostało najmłodsze pisklę z całej czwórki. Miało pewne szanse przeżycia, głównie zależące od tego jak głodny będzie jastrząb w kolejnych dniach. Jastrząb ten okazał się być wyjątkowo doświadczonym, szybkim i sprytnym myśliwym. Nie ma możliwości zabezpieczenia gniazda bociana czarnego przed atakami jastrzębia. Poza tym, jeśli chcemy oglądać prawdziwe życie lasu musimy pogodzić się z tym, że jastrząb jest rodzimym drapieżnikiem naszych lasów i w takim razie jest pełnoprawnym mieszkańcem naszych lasów. Co więcej, las z drapieżnikami to las prawdziwy, a nie udawany. A nasza transmisja pokazuje właśnie życie prawdziwego lasu, a nie zwierzyńca, choć zrozumiałe jest, że wiele osób wolałoby oglądać idylliczny obraz przyrody. Ale taki sielankowy obraz przyrody to bajka, przekłamanie i fikcja. Rzeczywistość to ciągła walka o przeżycie, zdobycie pokarmu, gniazda i partnera do rozrodu. I taką surową rzeczywistość pokazuje nasza transmisja.

Całe szczęście – ostatni pisklak przetrwał i 3 lipca 2023 r. został wyposażony w obrączkę i loger, a imię wybrane przez obserwatorów stało się oficjalnym. W tym roku z gniazda na dębie wyleci FERNANDO!

In our nest of black storks in May 2023, 4 chicks have hatched. Unfortunately, the first one died on May 17 as a side effect of the tawny owl's attack on Fermina, and the second was snatched by a goshawk five days later. Of course, there was an adult stork on the watch, but the predator turned out to be smarter, faster, experienced... it lowered the flight and snatched the biggest young. There were two left.

6.06.2023 the larger chick is already 22 days old and the smaller 20 days old. At this age, chicks are usually left unattended. But now, Florentino and Fermina3 know well that a goshawk can appear at any time and they delay leaving the chicks alone. They can do that because they have only two chicks to feed. However, the food needs of chicks will be increasing and parents will soon have to take a risk - concludes Prof. Zielinski.

16.06.2023 at 21:01:56 the goshawk again attacked our black storks nest. The nest was guarded by Fermina, but she stood with her back turned to the chicks, and as a result, she noticed an incoming predator too late and the goshawk snatched a second chick.

It quickly dived with the victim into the bushes growing under the nest. Fermina rushed down after the goshawk, but the goshawk feeling Fermina's pursuit abandoned the chick and quickly flew into the forest. Fermina quickly realized that she would not catch the goshawk so she returned to the nest to guard the last chick. Later, the goshawk came back to his victim and partially ate it. But under the nest, after the goshawk's meal, there was only a lot of torn out down and some torn flight feathers ripped off by the goshawk. Apparently, the remains of the chick, left after the goshawk's meal, must have been taken care of by some land predator – a fox or a dog.

On the nest there was one chick left - the youngest one of the four. It had some chance of survival, mainly depending on how hungry the goshawk would be in the following days. This goshawk turned out to be an exceptionally experienced, fast and clever hunter. It is not possible to protect the black stork's nest from goshawk attacks. Besides, if we want to see the real life of the forest, we have to accept that the goshawk is the native predator of our forests and then it is a legitimate inhabitant of our forests. What’s more, the forest with its predators is a real forest, not a fake forest. And our live transmission shows the life of a real forest, not a ZOO, although it is understandable that many people would prefer to see the idyllic image of nature. But such an idyllic image is a fairy tale, a misrepresentation and a fiction. Reality is a constant struggle for survival, food, nest and breeding partner. And this harsh reality is being shown on our transmission.

Fortunately, the last chick survived and on July 3, 2023 it was equipped with a ring and a logger, and the name chosen by the observers became official.
This year, out of the nest on the oak, FERNANDO will fly!
