Adria wrote: 16 May 2023, 14:28Do we know what the weather is like there? Do the chicks know how to regulate their temperature? :?
weather: still rainy https://www.windy.com/40.535/16.185?rai ... 6,19.753,6
regulating the body temperature: not now (they have only the down) only after the 4th week it is better
Thanks Marika for the info. But if it rains, it should have an effect on the amount of food. The male flew away, came back and hasn't fed them yet.... :(

- storks usually don't fly in the rain - after a longer while their wings get heavy from the water and then it's difficult for them to fly and manoeuvrer
- food is difficult to catch in cloudy water and at a higher level
- new food does not appear during and immediately after the rain, only earthworms (the growth of new fish, etc. takes some time)

Clearly. But then why did the male fly away?

in my opinion, even storks make decisions - what is dictated by their parental instinct and what by their instinct of self-preservation

according to you, was there no feeding at 14.24 ? or the youngest didn't get to eat?
1-2 feedings per day is not enough, I am worried about them, as the bad weather is expected to continue for the next few days

benjamin is very skinny :-( it has been lagging behind for a longer time
