I don't like this nest anymore...
- I've only seen the least developed chick eliminated (if my memory serves me) and that's usually the youngest
- with white storks it is usually the male, with black storks I have seen both females and males (I do not allow myself to estimate the ratio)
- we see the brood reduction every season even on several streamed nests - it's a way to raise strong young (if food resources are limited, insufficient) and you know that
- it's (very) hard to watch, but I've learned to accept it
