Hello everyone :-)

Birdmap update for WABA https://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN/2022/aut ... =0&speed=1

Previous data: (viewtopic.php?p=10771#p10771 and next)
- 01.11.2022 (mid-flight data), Distance: 6910 km (+ 908 km) in two and a half days
- SUDAN: Merowe Dam - Northern State

NEW data:
- 01.11.2022 (evening data), Distance: 6977 km (+ 67 km)
- SUDAN: Osly - Northern State

Waba continued along the Nile river. The newest localisation is on the irrigated fields to the east from Osly (searching for food), resp. on one electricity pole - night resting place most probably.

Waba's path-line on 01.11

the newest lines are in the area of irrigated fields to the east from Osly
Image

the more dangerous are the local electricity lines; storks often use for night resting the el. poles for night resting in the areas without available and/or suitable trees

Thank you Marika for the link to the article. It's unbelievable how many birds die because of it and how little is enough  . The EC could propose and approve something good at least once.

I also saw some palm trees there, so I hope Waba spends the night on one of them 🍀.

Birdmap update for WABA https://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN/2022/aut ... =0&speed=1

Previous data: (viewtopic.php?p=10797#p10797 and next)

- SUDAN: Osly - Northern State

NEW data:
- 03.11.2022 (mid-flight data), Distance: 7022 km (+ 33 km)
- SUDAN: Osly - Northern State

Waba searched for food in the Nile and the nearby area: stork flew to the north (irrigation canal) and to the south for night resting on one el. pole. Today continued exploring the river area and mostly the nearby irrigated fields.
(Adriána, palm trees are not suitable for black storks.)
