Hello everyone :-)

Birdmap update for BONUS https://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN/2022/aut ... =0&speed=1

Previous data: (viewtopic.php?p=10690#p10690 and next)
- 24.10.2022, Distance: 2919 km (+ 184 km )
- TURKEY: between Kocaali and Şenköy - villages in Şarköy district of Tekirdağ

NEW data:
- 25.10.2022, Distance: 3079 km (+ 160 km )
- TURKEY: Tuzla - a village in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale Province

It seems Bonus has big respect for the open water. He flew from Balkan Peninsula to Anatolian Peninsula on the western part the Dardanelles. Continued to the south-west (!). The newest localisation is in the area of the Tuzla Stream.

This situation reminds me (also Madli and others) of last year's juvenile Katrin. She visited also the nearby Greek island of Lesbos, returned to the Turkish mainland and stayed there for many weeks, looking for food mainly in the melioration canals. Unfortunately she perished very weakened :-(. (viewtopic.php?f=52&t=3)

I very much hope that Bonus will find a better way and continue either along the coast or fly directly inland and meet other migratory birds, black storks. Fingers crossed very, very much!

Behram or Behramkale is a town/village in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale province.
(GT - https://tr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behram,_Ayvac%C4%B1k)
The village has had the same name since 1487. The ancient city of Assos, one of the important port cities of the Archaic period, and the Temple of Athena, located at the highest point of the city, dating back to 525 BC, are today within the borders of Behramkale. In the region, which was first excavated in the 1800s, excavation work has been carried out uninterruptedly since 1981. The name Makhramion or briefly Makhram given to Assos in the Byzantine period is the origin of the word Behram today.
The single-domed Hüdavendigar Mosque, located to the north of the Athena Temple, was built by Murat I in the 14th century. The stone Hüdavendigar Bridge, which was built on Tuzla Stream, or Satnioeis with its ancient name, was built during the Ottoman period and has survived to the present day and is open for use. The ancient port in the village is still used.
Geography
The village is 92 km from Çanakkale city center and 15 km from Ayvacık town centre. It is located on an old volcanic cone. Tuzla Stream to the north of the village, Edremit Bay to the south, and the Greek island of Lesbos , behind the Aegean Sea.
In the village, like other regions on the south coast of the Biga Peninsula, the effects of the Mediterranean climate are seen in general.

very interesting reading (and photos) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assos

The stone Murat Hüdavendigar Bridge (Murat Hüdavendigar Köprüsü), which was built on Tuzla Stream during the Ottoman period and has survived to the present day and is open for use.
Murad Hüdâvendigâr, 3rd ottoman sultan (1326 - 1389) (Hudavendigar means master in the Ottoman Turkish - short good reading http://www.theottomans.org/english/family/murat1.asp)
