- every time there are worries
- every day is one big step for these quickly growing storklets
- if enough food is available no problem - when the two big siblings are full, the third can eating too
- it will be better every day for No3 - finger crossed!

That's true. There will be better days! I keep telling this to myself

No progress on egg #4..?

04.44 Kaia arrives.
Karl's nest duty was 7 h 57 min.


The little ones are hungry- they are biting and pecking eachother and Kaia's bill.

04.48 FEEDING (1) Kaia offers a very small piece of soft food. #1 and #2 are in place, eating..little #3 is behind them. Finally #3 manages to get to the table, but there is nothing left by then.

05.34 Kaia stands, preens herself. The chicks are all chirping and begging. No feeding this time.

06.35 After already standing for 5 minutes, Kaia gives "special attention" to #3 ..she touches it gently with her bill and looks at it..




06.37 FEEDING (2) Kaia serves another small piece of food. #1 and #2 are quickly in place- #3 is almost there, but too late again Nothing for the little one..


Kaia regurgitates another small piece, but #3 is not even in the right direction anymore.

06.40 Now I hear the egg talking..? We will see..

06.53 Karl is back! It seems that Kaia is not too happy about that- she is whistling and talking kind of in an angry way But she gives her spot to Karl and flies away.
Kaia's nest duty was 2 h 9 min.


06.55 FEEDING attempt: Karl regurgitates several big fish, but they are too big for everybody, and not soft enough.

07.40 FEEDING (3) Karl offers a big pile of fish again. At first, everyone has trouble with it because it is still not soft. Eventually #1 and #2 manage to swallow a big fish whole....but this kind of food is not appropriate for #3. He has no chance!
