20.06.2024 all the chicks were ringed with metal rings. Two of them received white plastic rings with codes 12A6 and 12A7, and two were equipped with football camps. The log is small and weighs only 19 g, which is of great importance for a long-distance wanderer the black stork. During the ringing, the chicks were calm (not counting the pecking of the ring-man). Put on the nest, they immediately started to scare away the intruder, that is me. The presence of loggers on their feet didn't interfere with the chicks at all from feeding.
The last few days of the chicks' stay in the nest have been full of interesting events, of course, related to exercising wings and feeding. 27.06 during test jumps (video) a stork with a white log hit the wing of the other one (with code 12A7) and didn't even apologize. 28.06 during exercise a stork with a white log landed (photo) on the second - with a black log - both were surprised. 29.06 at 13:34 three chicks were fighting (video) for a fish brought by Florentino. Each of these three were holding on to the fish with all their might and would not let it go. The fourth one (pictured at the back with number 12A6) knew he would not get to this fish from the top or the side. He waited so patiently and patiently. Finally, he used the moment of all three of them's inability to pull a fish from the least expected angle, from the bottom. There were a few more storms and downpours in the meantime.
On June 30, in the evening of the international chat vote we chose the names for our storks. Results: stork with a white log - FAla (through acclamation, thanks to Zdzisław - we all remember Ala Januszewska), with a black log - Filipek, 12A6 - Figaro, 12A7 - Finka (our Justyna's voice was decisive).
