I don't know, but it seems to me that when it comes to development, young black storks are slower in development compared to white storks.
The chicks, which hatched almost two weeks after the Bonus and Bonus 2 chicks, are already floating in the air above the nest. And here it seems that flying does not concern them

URMAS:
"Planned ringing and tagging of chicks in Karula nest would happen in night between Monday and Tuesday next week. Hope for suitable weather that time.
We plan to install transmitters on Bonus chicks and one of original chicks in nest. Similarly in second Bonus nest.
And one more chick in western Estonia we wanted to track, where male uses western migration route. But the chicks were not so well fed there."

thanks Marika for the info. Oh, so not all chicks get transmitters.
We need to sleep on Monday afternoon so that we can watch and document at night.
what did Urmas mean by "the chicks were not well fed" - none survived?
