Hello everyone :-)

instructions by Tajo International on 28.02: viewtopic.php?p=53697#p53697 and again on 31.03: viewtopic.php?p=54834#p54834

CHICKS 🐥🐥🐥
- 1st chick: 72 days old,
- 2nd chick: 71 days old,
- 3rd chick: 69 days old
Egg 4: Laid 07 April - unhatched

Stork chicks grow exponentially. 90 days in the nest is like 18-21 years for humans. This means that 1 day in the nest is like almost 3 months for a human child. That is why their transformation is so amazing and fast.

Maiden flight (general data):
- Chicks become capable of flight at the age of 68–72 days.
- Fledging depends on several environmental factors.
- Chicks that stay longer in the nest after fledging have higher survival rates.

Maiden flight data for this nest (Zica & Natalio):
- 2025: 69 days old (accidental flight)
- 2024: 69 days old (forced by attack)

10:10 @valya-ua
I read that stimulating them with hunger is necessary. If the parents feed them less, they’ll take flight. Right now, they’re comfortable—there’s plenty of food, so why fly?

10:30 @MarikaSolo-q9r
@valya-ua where you read it?

10:30 @MarikaSolo-q9r (me)
@valya-ua This is a common myth. Parents do not deliberately restrict feeding to force the young to fly.
On the contrary, fledglings need to be well-fed and have substantial fat reserves before leaving the nest. Their first attempts at hunting are highly inefficient, making these fat reserves their crucial survival buffer.
