CHICKS
- 1st chick: 71 days old,
- 2nd chick: 70 days old,
- 3rd chick: 68 days old
Egg 4: Laid 07 April - unhatched
Stork chicks grow exponentially. 90 days in the nest is like 18-21 years for humans. This means that 1 day in the nest is like almost 3 months for a human child. That is why their transformation is so amazing and fast.
Maiden flight (general data):
- Chicks become capable of flight at the age of 68–72 days.
- Fledging depends on several environmental factors.
- Chicks that stay longer in the nest after fledging have higher survival rates.
Maiden flight data for this nest (Zica & Natalio):
- 2025: 69 days old (accidental flight)
- 2024: 69 days old (forced by attack)

Weather: A breeze picks up in the afternoon, creating favourable conditions for the chicks to practice jumping.
10:01:17 – Feeding by Zica.
11:14:50 – 11:14:59 – Feeding/Visit by Natalio.
11:44:05 – One of the chicks makes a strong jump-flight attempt, almost succeeding.
11:59:14 – 11:59:26 – The reflection of a black stork in flight is visible in the water below the cliff.
12:06:38 – 12:06:46 – Feeding by Zica.
12:12:44 – A large vulture flies past the nest.
14:16 – The chicks are active and interact closely with one another.
14:50:46 – The chicks begin wing exercises as the breeze picks up.
16:07 – Feeding by Natalio.
17:07 – Feeding by Zica: She delivers a large quantity of fish.
