Hello everyone
CHICKS
- 1st chick: 18 days old (hatched on 14.06)
EGGS

unhatched (laid on 13.05 at 22:22 and 16.05 at 02:05)
Stork chicks grow exponentially. 90 days in the nest is like 18-21 years for humans. This means that 1 day in the nest is like almost 3 months for a human child. That is why their transformation is so amazing and fast.

Re: Pärnu county (Kergu + Kerli) / Must-toonekurg 3
youtube chat info - thx to everyone
English translation only from now on – assisted by Gemini
YouTube comments do not reflect all nest events throughout the day, including chick feedings; therefore, the log is unfortunately incomplete.
Nest Activity Log 02/07/2026
10:45 – The chick begs for food.
10:52 – An adult parent jumps onto a branch near the nest.
10:58 – The chick produces a healthy mute (poop shot), indicating it has been well-nourished.
11:56 – Male (Kergu) departs.
13:43:47 – Female (Kerli) arrives at the nest.
13:45 – FEEDING by female (Kerli). She delivered a very large frog. The chick actively fought for and secured the food.
14:33 – Male (Kergu) arrives at the nest.
14:37 – FEEDING by male (Kergu).
14:58 – FEEDING by male (Kergu).
16:13:47 – FEEDING by male (Kergu).
16:14 – Male (Kergu) departs.
18:36 – Male (Kergu) arrives at the nest.
continuation:
- in my opinion the chick looks and behaves just as we have seen in other nests at this age
- 4 feedings today – if the amount of food is sufficient (and it seem so), then 4 times a day is perfectly fine too
- the big question is still here: will the parents stay to feed the chick until its final departure, or will they leave it at the usual migration time for Estonian adults?

Nest Activity Log 04/07/2026
05:42 – The female Kerli arrived at the nest very early. The male Kergu left the nest immediately to forage for food.
11:02 – The male Kergu returned to the nest after being away for more than 5 hours.
11:03 – Feeding by the male Kergu. The chick received its first meal of the day (the last feeding was the previous day at 16:13). Kergu flew away again immediately after feeding. The female Kerli stayed to guard the chick.
14:55 – The male Kergu arrived at the nest. The female Kerli flew away immediately.
14:56 – Feeding by the male Kergu (the chick received several fish and was well fed).
15:19 – The male Kergu flew away. The chick was left alone in the nest during heavy rain and thunderstorms.
17:18 – The male Kergu returned to the nest to stay with the chick.
17:48 – 17:50 – The male Kergu gently preened the chick's feathers and scratched its head.
21:58 – The female Kerli arrived at the nest, briefly startling the chick in the dark.
(General note: It rained heavily throughout the night and day. The chick was fed twice today, both times by the male Kergu. There was strong criticism in the chat regarding the female Kerli's low feeding activity and long absences.)
