Arvo has been enjoying the marshlands and rice fields of the Camargue (France) since 28 September. Iksi is spending time in the southernmost part of Albania, near Mursi, where he arrived on 23 October. Vihm has settled near the Pločica Marsh in Serbia since 1 September. And Janis, our adult bird, remains on the western shore of the Gulf of Iskenderun (Turkey) since 2 October.
It seems that these places are no longer just stopovers — they might have become their wintering sites this season!
