What a nice selfie But actually the chicks are very hot again. It is +30 C outside.

12.29 The chicks observe some movement and a shadow moves above the forest.

A black stork flies by the nest but misses the landing, or was this intentional.. It could be a stranger.


before the flyby the chicks take a defending position, then a dodging position. But they don't make any sounds or react strongly.

13.12 At last there is some shadow on the nest. A small relief for the chicks.

14.33 Kaia arrives. She feeds the chicks (3), stands on the curved branch for a minute, then leaves.

15.12 The camera zoomed out just a little. Now the growing chicks can fit into the frame again.


The chicks are resting, but still banting a lot.

17.51 Kaia arrives to feed the chicks. (4). It's so beautiful to watch her fly through the forest. She regurgitates two piles of food. Kaia leaves shortly after the feeding.

18.21 Karl comes in for feeding (5). A lot of fish! Karl leaves immediately after the feeding is over.
