16.30 FEEDING (4) Frogs and fish on the menu again All eat.


I noticed that Kaia often whistles very silently. Like she is talking, and #3 always becomes very submissive..

The older chicks still keep twittering and pulling her bill.
16.31 Kaia gives them another small pile of leftovers.

[Madli]

I hear Kaia whistling again- it is a slow and silent whistle...

16.32 Kaia shows mild aggression towards #3- she is pulling some feathers out from its head

[Madli]

16.42 Kaia flies away.
Kaia was in the nest for 13 minutes.


Chicks are alone.

[Madli]

17.00 KARL comes. The chicks go crazy immediately. Begging and biting.
Chicks were alone for 18 minutes.




17.01 FEEDING (5) Karl offers fish in three parts. The chicks eat it very fast. Not sure if #3 got anything the first two times, but he got a larger fish on the third time.

not much to see, the chicks are so big that they cover all the view

Karl grooms the chicks after the feeding. They are very full!


17.15 Karl becomes very attentive- maybe there is somebody?
He flies away. Karl was in the nest for 15 minutes.

The trio ejoys a nice evening in the nest.

20.01 KAIA arrives to the nest.




#3 feels more secure when he is behind and between the siblings..

[Madli]

20.02 FEEDING (6) It doesn't look like there's a lot of food, but the chicks got something.




After feeding Kaia makes this silent whistle soundf again.
#3 is very tense, and keeps quiet between the twittering siblings.

Kaia goes to stand on the curved branch.
