21.06 KAIA. That's unexpected...but very nice! Kaia only very rarely spends the night in the nest.
Karl's nest duty was 2 h 3 min.


21.12 FEEDING (7) Something small comes out...and a snake?! All chicks get a nice late dinner. The snake is very stiff. One of the bigger siblings tries to swallow it, but it's too big and it struggles with it for a long time. Kaia pulls the snake out from the storklet's mouth and bites it a few times between her bill..maybe to soften it? She gives it back to the storklets. They battle with the snake but it's impossible to eat. Kaia eats it back.

22.56 Kaia offers the lamprey again... it is still unedible for the chicks. Both bigger ones try to get it into their mouths.

04.26 It's morning and the chicks are ready to eat. They still have to wait a little


05.16 KARL. Kaia talks to him a lot. She doesn't immediately leave, but stands and talkt to Karl a whole minute

Karl steps closer to heed the chicks.

05.19 FEEDING (1) A small pile of lampreys? or worms...#1 and #2 eat fast and most of it, #3's head is stuck behind the older ones so it can't reach food at the beginning. #3 still gets a small bite, maybe..Karl tries to regurgitate again, but it doesn't work. Not a good feeding..

05.23 Kaia brings fresh moss.


Karl leaves again.

Kaia covers the chicks.

06.25 Kaia stands, the chicks are twittering of hunger again because the last feeding wasn't too great..no feeding this time.

06.59 KARL is back. Kaia leaves.
Kaia's nest duty was 1 h 36 min.

07.01 FEEDING (2) Small fish for breakfast. #1 and #2 quickly swallow the fish. #3 also gets a big fish, but doesn't manage to position it correctly to swallow it. The fish drops on the ground and the older one grabs and eats it. #3 maybe founds something small, but I'm not sure...#1 and #2 eat good, #3 very little.




There are some concerns among the YT chat, that #3 doesn't still know how to eat properly...

08.45 Ther trio is waiting for food again, but Karl only arranges the moss on the nest .


09.02 KAIA. This is a quite silent arrival, no special greetings. Karl leaves.
Karl's nest duty was 2 h 3 min.


09.04 FEEDING (3) I see weatherfish, frogs, possibly nutes or lizards..all eat good. #3 tries to swallow a frog, but doesn't succeed and Kaia pulls it out from its mouth and eats it herself. But I saw #3 swallow some big pieces before.

10.08 Someone is already restless


10.09 Kaia stands up, the chicks are begging again..
10.10 FEEDING (4) #3(in the middle) swallows a frog! Also one of the older chicks eat.


It's already hot for the chicks. They are banting, also the light is very bright and you can hardly see the chicks
