The chicks are hungry. I'm worried about the cubs, what's next if Jan doesn't come back?

1/
- we don't know nothing (as you know, he is without transmitter)
- Liz wrote on the chat yesterday: he need a break to care of him self ... (I don't think so)
- (hunting) and flying in the rain and strong wind is hard and dangerous (they can run into obstacles, including power lines), very wet wings are heavy
2/
- in this kind of situations parents leave the nest in search of food, although the storklets are too young to be left alone
- it is chance for predators and raptors
3/
- it is especially bad situation for No5 (little one is the smallest and weak - a/ it doesn't last long without food or b/ the female may try to swallow it)
- if for any reason she is left alone, it is unlikely that even one chick will survive (they are still very small to be able to remain without protection from predators and/or and the weather - cold, rain)
