Karula National Park (Karl II and Kaia)

I'm disturbing the chronology now a bit, but I already noticed a tiny black dot on one of the eggs at 15.41, while Kaia was rolling, the dot moved with the egg.
But it could be just a piece of dirt or what ever...



(maybe this is the reason why the camera zoomed in the next time? )

17.47 Karl arrives. Kaia leaves in a hurry.
Kaia's incubation shift was 7 h 14 min.

And very thorough aerating. Karl is always taking very good care of the eggs and the nest

It started to rain a night, and quite heavily. Strong rain showers continue in the morning.
It is going to be a wet day for our storks

09.59 A tree fell down nearby. ( It's not even storming )

10.02 Karl aerating the nest. He also shakes his feathers. The rain has calmed a little, but not stopped. The eggs are still silent.


10.04 A few loud bangs / shots heard.
EDIT: Today was the last day of the big military excercise SIIL 2022, and the last excercise battles were held in Valga county.

13.04 Still no change for Karl. Kaia is missing for a long time already and Karl must be getting impatient already..


13.42 Looks like the weather has cleared up for now, and even a little bit of sunshine is coming through So hopefully Kaia decides to come home too in case she didn't prefer to fly with the rain.


Let's keep waiting..it's nothing extraordinary yet.
