NEW BREEDING PAIR IN KARULA, ESTONIA
Do you remember Eedi? Male black stork from Karula (Karl's neighbour). Eedi sent his last data in August 2022 from Latvia. He had just begun his autumn migration. Since then he's been missing and now it is clear that he won't return to his nest.
Luckily Eedi's nest didn't remain emty and in summer 2023, a new pair has accepted the nest and successfully raised 3 chicks! At the time of this discovery, chicks were already too old for ringing.
Maybe this is Eedi 2 visiting the fish basket?
11.08.2023

Also a juvenile started to visit the basket wirh the adult. Most likely this is the chick of Eedi 2
What is interesting, this is a rare sight to see a begging juvenile with the adult.
13.08.2023

Hopefully this adult will get a transmitter and then we can officially welcome him
Big thanks to Raivo for this information.

Re: News from other black storks nest
I think that Eedi 2 already deserves his own thread

The plastic stork doesn't feed the chicks!

This just shows that juveniles beg food from anyone that resembles an adult stork. Real or not
