You really learn something new every day! Thanks to Illimar and you too for sharing this ;)

I am actually a member of the same FB group, but I didn't use Facebook yesterday, so I didn't see this.

Vingerjas, or in english Weatherfish

06.00 Everyone is active and awake! 1 and 2 are greeting and begging, even little 3 is already biting the moss and activly crawls around, looking for a good position. Little one is biting Karl's toes :)

06.02 FEEDING (1) Only the bigger ones eat. 3 is behind the siblings and can't reach anything.

06.07 Kaia arrives! Karl doesn't hurry to stand up and leave..he waits a few moments. But when Karl leaves, Kaia looks at her chicks and rolls the egg. The chicks start begging again, but Kaia doesn't feed this time. Kaia arrived with a wet-dirty belly.
Karl's nest duty was 8 h 48 min.

The PIP in the 4th egg is well visible now

06.12 Twig.
06.16 Grass
06.19 Moss
06.22 Moss

06.21 Kaia stands up, arranges some material and covers the chicks and the egg again.

07.08 FEEDING attempt...Kaia regurgitates fish- it looks like big lampreys? #1 and #2 both grab one end of the fish- it is not soft enough to break into pieces. Then #1 attempts to swallow it whole, but Kaia pulls it out from its throat and eats it herself. There is also a second fish in the nest, a smaller one, but Kaia eats it back before any of the chicks can eat it. #3 was behind the older siblings the whole time.

07.48 FEEDING (2) #1 and #2 manage to swallow some big pieces of the fish, but this food is still too big for #3 ...

08.30 All three nicely in place...but no feeding this time. Kaia only arranges some moss and changes her position.
