12.57 Another tree falls in the forest, right near the nest I heard a tree fall also yesterday, this time it is closer! Even Karl startles.

14.46 Karl takes care of the eggs. I'm trying to listen of there's egg talk. I think I can hear a little, but it's difficult due to the strong wind and the backround noise.
15.30 Karl rolls the eggs, but the pip(s) are hidden. Also no egg talk this time.

15.41 Karl starts to tensely observe something on the right.


He makes a regurgitating movement with his throat and bill..? A big raptor nearby?


Or rather he tries to cast a pellet? Karl continues this regurgitating motion repeatedly.

That's a big mouth!

Karl's incubation shift was 10 h 46 min.


18.51 Kaia continues incubation.

18.52 Kaia stands up after a minute of sitting on the eggs. She arranges a twig on the edge of the nest and very quickly aerates.
