These are proper extremesmarika.solo wrote: ↑19 May 2022, 17:50he was 2 hour longer on the nest yesterday in the day time and I'm not sure if he managed to eat something in the busy morning
btw. Karl II in the previous season incubated alone 5 (!) days, but these 5 days were of extreme value, at the limit of the stork's physiological capabilities (commented by prof.PZ)
edit: we see on the PL nest enough often approx. 24 h long duties

FEMALE is on the nest from 17.16 (19.05.2022)
taking care of the eggs (after noon)
quite night
... 00.25 - 01.52 - 03.19 - 04.14 - 04.47 - 06.04 - 06.30 - 07.38 -
07.31 F is resting/sleeping deep in the nest, it is windy
- 07.38 the usually routine: F stand up, ruffled her plumage, nice wing and body stretching, she spread her wings, aerating, fluffing the moss and back incubating
- aerating while sitting and than resting (07.45)
- 07.57 again aerating while sitting (something creaks - old branches? the construction most probably not)
- 08.04 - and next little bird is very close in the nest area (and flies above F)
