08.14 It's raining. Karl is wet.


09.24 Karl is stretching his wings and shaking the water off. It's still raining.

09.28 Kaia arrives! She looks dry. Karl isn't too happy about Kaia's late arrival...they exchange a few whistles and have an interesting conversation about this Karl leaves and Kaia takes care of the eggs.
Karl's incubation duty was 17 h 55 min.

Kaia often gets very sleepy sitting there. It's so lovely how her head sometimes just falls down as she sleeps

17.25 Karl comes home while Kaia is aerating the nest. She startles. Kaia continues to roll the eggs.


17.27 Kaia continues incubation. Hm..doesn't she want to exchange?


At least Karl is having a very thorough preening session.

17.33 Kaia stands and rolls the eggs, then continues incubation.
17.41 Kaia aerates the nest. Karl is preening himself besides Kaia.

17.54 Karl starts to arrange twigs. Kaia carefully observes his every movement.


17.55 Kaia stands up, gives a few whistles in Karl's direction, spreads her wings and flies away. Karl steps in to take care of the eggs.
