Bonus may have a chance when it becomes more independent.
But only when Bonus finds a good feeding place fast and learns to fish for himself. This, of course, doesn't happen overnight.

I am worried that Bonus wants to fly out. Hopefully the scenario of 2021 Jõgeva doesn't repeat and Bonus will be able to return to the nest.
The forest vegetation is different in Karula. Pine forests are not so dense and there isn't a thick jungle bush under the trees.

I just hope that Bonus will be strong enough to return!

I feel that we will have some tough days ahead of us... :?

Today, all three feedings of Karl II are related to fish basket 2. He was there before all three feedings, though first most probably contained prey of pre-basket feedings at morning. Karl went to the basket also after last feeding. Don't know, if there was still something to take. But new fish was added (44 fish) about one hour ago by local volunteers family in Karula NP, who provided fish during last ten days or so. But their fish pond becomes harvested, less and smaller ones can be caught still. They will continue since it is possible to get fish, maybe not every day to drive to the basket with few fish in near future. Three species are brought from there: alien fish species Prussian Carp (Carassius gibelio) as well as two local fish: Crucian Carp (Carassius carassius) and Tench (Tinca tinca). We with Ain added this morning both carp caught from other ponds also, therefore Karl had possibility to stuff quickly all the four chicks in nest.
This morning I filled also fish basket 1 with some 40 carps, bigger and smaller ones. Karl II or Kaia needs to check it only before the other interested guys (heron, otter, mink) appear there.
Though we have trail cameras at fish baskets, not always the feedings are fixed in memory card and few are sent remotely to us. The feeding places are in weak GSM network sites. But there is usually less people around and therefore less disturbance.

That explains the three fast feedings. Clever Karl: catch quickly - towards the nest, catch again and fly to the nest again.
Thanks to everyone who helps with the procurement of fish :) .

Even Kaia could stop here today ;) .

I don't know, but according to PS Bonus, he doesn't suffer from hunger. Even days before, he had the same PS as the stout chicks.
Stress takes its toll, the first days were difficult for him, you could see it. They separated him from his sibling. I know there was no other solution, but it would always be good to keep siblings together.
