The chicks were alone at night. They didn't get much sleep, they were active most of the time.

The chicks were alone for a long time in the morning.

07.25 The chicks react to a threat! There may be a strange bird around..I hear some rustling in the branches.

07.27 KAIA arrives. At first chicks defended the nest, when they recognized Kaia, they immediately started to beg for food.
Chicks were alone for 11 h 20 min.


Kaia brought water.

Kaia makes a PS and steps on the curved branch.


07.35 She steps down the branch..

07.35 FEEDING (1) I see frogs and some fish. All eat.

After feeding Kaia does her silent whistle sound again and goes back to the curved branch. You can see how #3 reacts to this. His body posture is frozen. He is still afraid of Kaia. While two others keep twittering, #3 is silent.

07.50 The chicks have settled to sleep and Kaia stands next to them.


08.00 The chicks are again up and twittering #3 is standing for a longer time already and walks a few steps forward while standing.

08.07 KARL arrives. At first Kaia startles a little, but then she gives a nice and long greeting to Karl. Kaia leaves the nest.
Kaia was in the nest for 40 min.

08.08 FEEDING (2) Fish from Karl. The stream stutters right after Karl regurgitates a smaller pile of fish. The stream resumes a minute later- I think there was a second regurgitation with more fish but I don't see it.
