19.34 FEEDING (4) A good dinner from Kaia. Can't see anything, but Kaia regurgitates two times, so probably there is a good amount of food. At least I see everyone swallow something.

After feeding Kaia makes this hissing/ whistle sound again like she did yesterday.

Hey Adriana!

Yes, it is actually very normal. Parents start leaving the chicks alone for longer periods at about two feeks of age. The chicks demand more food and both parents need to go hunting simultaneously. But this is a more dangerous period, no doubt about that. Clearly the chicks can't defend themselves. ( Fingers crossed for the best!)

Actually, These chicks were guarded by their parents quite a long time. I have heard that in some years when food is scarce, the parents leave the chicks even earlier than two weeks. ;)
Ok, thank you for explaining Madli (forgive me for the mistake in addressing above :( ). So in this case, it's okay. Unfortunately, lack of food seems to have a major impact on parents' behavior, when in other circumstances the chicks would probably be guarded. This probably also affects the psyche of the storks. I keep my fingers crossed that everything evil will avoid them.

Chicks are alone in the nest. Is it their first night alone?
