#3 is sitting very silently, almost scared..

Kaia starts to arrange twigs. The little ones watch and "help" too




#3 lifts his head. Kaia grabs the feathers.. She wants to take the neck, but siblings protect the little one by moving in front and covering the little one.

[Madli]

Don't worry little sister/brother. You are safe between us..

[Madli]

07.49 Everyone's resting, including Kaia.


08.48 KARL brings a piece of moss. Kaia gives him a long greeting, then she leaves.
Kaia's nest duty was 1 h 44 min.

08.51 FEEDING (2) Karl offers fish two times. All the chicks eat a lot!

10.17 The chicks are still resting with Karl.

[Madli]

10.57 Karl leaves.Chicks are alone.
Karl's nest duty was 2 h 9 min.

11.20 KAIA arrives.


Kaia approaches the chicks. #3 is in the middle, the older ones try to push Kaia's bill away from #3.

11.28 Kaia regurgitates 2 small frogs...I don't think it's enough to call it a feeding...the olde ones grab the frogs, Kaia even tries to take one back from the chick, but the chick gets it and eats it. #3 doesn't get anything this time.


#3 seems very scared of Kaia. He tries to stay hidden all the time.


11.38 Everything seems calm..hopefully it will stay that way!

12.23 Preening time


Right after that Kaia scratches herself and the chicks start twittering.
They calm down and settle to sleep.

12.51 The chicks become more active again and start twittering.

Older chick is already kneering for a short time.
