08.25 FEEDING (1) The chicks form a circle around Kaia's bill! That's the first time. Kaia feeds them little fish. Everyone eats.

09.46 The chicks are cuddled up in a ball and sleeping calmly

10.14 The chicks wake up and start twittering.

The two older ones do the greeting.


#3 also does the greeting, but Kaia doesn't like that.


Kaia grabs #3's head, teaches him a lesson...


#3 goes to hide between the siblings

10.21 #3 raises its head again to do the greeting. Kaia again takes the little one's head by the bill...the older ones start to protect #3.

10.39 FEEDING (2) Kaia regurgitates a small piece of leftovers. Only the olser ones eat. #3 is inactive.




The chicks keep twittering..

Kaia also grabs the head of one older chick and shakes it.


Mama is in a bad mood today!
I think that she is trying to teach some manners to the chicks or get them to be quiet. She knows that there will be no more feedings until Karl arrives and she doesn't want the chicks to be so noisy..

10.50 The wind gusts are strong today. The nest is swaying and even Kaia has to keep her balance in the wind.

11.15 The chicks are twittering again. #3 is standing up for the first time! ( I haven't seen before)


11.56 KARL arrives. The chicks are so angry at him
Kaia's nest duty was 3 h 33 min.

11.59 FEEDING (3) Lots of fish from Karl again. See how the chicks are again in a circle, with wings already spread wide. They are growing up so fast

After feeding, the chicks find a twig to play with


And after that, it's nap time again.
