the colour depends also on the food eaten - sometimes we also see such yellow to greenish faeces

btw. you have already noticed too that they bring more soft material especially in the days just before hatching ;)

aha, thanks for the explanation Marika.

with that material it is questionable with Karl, since Karl regularly brings material with breaks. It was clear to the Italians. But the first chick could have already hatched. Can you hear the beeping yet? I can not hear anything :( .

I also think that parents know when the right time apptoaches and they prepare the nest for the arrival of the little ones.
As Marika wrote earlier, this may take a few more days. ;)

"egg talk" may be observed once the chick has pierced the inner air cell and taken its first breath

continuation
it is day 31 for the first egg, some researcher think it is more valuable to count from the second egg (when usually the incubation is starting); this year the second egg arrived later - on 01.05 (the first on 28.04)

13.27 Some very suspicious chirping :?
It doesn't sound like the typical egg talk, but I don't think it's coming from the surrounding bird choir...

Do maybe we have a tiny external pip somewhere??

14.25 Kaia stands up to take care of the eggs and preen herself.
I hear a very faint chirping and a few beeps at 14.25.19 and 14.25.33 (and next)

What do you think?
