19.41 - Hurrah Karl is back, there will be dinner , Kaia flew away

it was enough big fish for Nr 3 (chick swaloved it later - maybe in pieces)


Karl II is eating the big pike back (more predigested will be later better for the little chicks)


one of them is really very, very full


benjamin most probably hadn't food again - the yolk sac from the egg usually sustains the hatchling for 24-48 hours

Fingers crossed for the little one very much! Hopefully it will have a better day tomorrow- and as long as Kaia finds enough food and is satisfied, chicks are safe! I am always a bit worried when Kaia arrives and calm when they are under Karl's watch

- I hope we will not see brood reduction (parental infanticide) on this nest
- in some nests it is exclusively a female, in others it is a male, and in some it is both
- I am also calmer when they are with Karl

they try to tear the fish apart, but it is not yet soft enough

Well, after feeding, Karl made a cover

I think that #4 got some bites of softened fish when feeding at 21.04. At least it was nicely positioned at the table.
#3 is already a vital and strong storklet. Climbed high to reach for food and doesn't fall far behind of #1 and #2

Soon #4 will be a fast and clever storklet too

I am not sure if benjamin ate something, but it was so nice to see him on the table - fingers crossed!
