El-KURRU https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El-Kurru (Gallery too) + https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:El-Kurru:
El-Kurru was the first of the three royal cemeteries used by the Kushite royals of Napata, also referred to as Egypt's 25th Dynasty, and is home to some of the royal Nubian Pyramids.

In 2013 archaeological work once again commenced at El Kurru. In collaboration with the National Council for Antiquities and Museums (NCAM), and partially funded by the Qatar Sudan Archaeological Project (QSAP), Dr. Geoff Emberling (Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, Michigan) and Dr. Rachael J. Dann (Associate Professor, Egyptian & Sudanese Archaeology, University of Copenhagen) co-direct excavation, survey, documentation and conservation work at the site. Much of this work is discussed here: International Kurru Archaeological Project https://ikap.us/

Hi Marika, but if you look at yesterday's post from the morning, this position was marked as data during the flight from 10.11. :?:

by you ;-) (more in email)

The only reason why I corrected it is to draw attention to the fact that where there are no trees, they either sleep on a pole - usually an electric mast (or in some kind of wetland). In other words, keeping suitable trees (even dry ones) is for their safe (night) resting very important.

edit:
Adriána is right! Waba flew in the evening from that place (el. pole/mast) to the Nile for night resting.
You are a good detective even with marking the route in that tangle of lines. Thank you for good work in this thread. :-)

November 13
Hello everyone :-)

Birdmap update for WABA https://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN/2022/aut ... =0&speed=1

Previous data: (viewtopic.php?p=10899#p10899 and next)
- 11.11.2022, Distance: 7414 km (+ 56 km)
- SUDAN: El Kurru - Northern State

NEW data:
- 12.11.2022, Distance: 7442 km (+ 28 km)
- SUDAN: Karima - Northern State
names: Kareima, Karemah, Karima, Karêmah, Kuraymah - on the google map we see Kuraymah Barkal
on the opposite site is Nuri

Waba flew to the north in that area. The new lines area on the irrigated fields near the Nile river. Newest localisation (lines) are in the desert area to the NW - it seems there are some intermittent streams, maybe after rainy season with peak in September there are still wet areas.

Waba is near the city of Nuri, where the Nuri Pyramids are located, considered the most beautiful Sudanese pyramids.
