WABA, hatched 2022, streamed nest in Karula NP

It seems Waba is visiting all previous places. From previous localisation continued to the Merowe reservoire and today our stork is flying to the south along the Nile river - direction to Affat area (maybe).

Waba from southern area (Goshabi) flew back to the north. Last night (31.12/01.01) Waba spent to the east from Korai on one elec. pylon in the area of the irrigated fields. (The night 30.12/31.12 on el. pylon too - to the east from Gowari). The newest localisation (mid-flight data) is to the east from the town Merowe in the desert area (north from the Wadi Abu Dom).

Waba crossed the Bayuda desert again and continued along the Nile to the town Atbara. Newest localisation/path-line (mid-flight data) is to the north from Abu Qawi paralel with the east bank of the Atbara river.

Btw. It is very unusual to fly such long distances without arriving at a new wintering place.

Morning 2.1. Waba continued south along the Nile River. The night of 2.1. he 3.1. spent near the city of Umm Tuyur, near artificial ponds (?)


Morning 3.1. continued in a southeasterly direction. At the town of Umm Santah, he turned north, where the last place was.

Waba crossed the Atbara river and continued above the circle irrigated fields. It seems our stork searched for food in the canals in that area. The night Waba spent in the river (not far from the river bend). Next day in the morning Waba searched for food in the river and next on the west bank .
