DAY 1 - 17.10

to the Bayuda (Bajjúda) desert area (a geological wonderland hugged by a giant loop in the Nile just north of Khartoum)

- to the left is the Merowe Dam: the 4th Cataract is in the Manasir Desert, and since 2008, is submerged under the reservoir of Merowe Dam

DAY 2 - 18.10

Nurme continued over the eastern edge of the Bayuda Desert. The second crossing point (path-line) is near El Matamma. The second overnight place is north from Khartoom.

DAY 3 - 19.10

Next day Nurme flew over Nile again and continued to the south-west. Nurme's newest localisation is to the north from El Obeid/Al Ubayyid the capital of the North Kordofan State, to the east from the village Zungah on one rocky elevation.

This year Nurme last sent data from the area as Karl II last year (and vice versa: Karl II last sent data this season from the same area as sent Nurme last year)



We may have to wait until the spring for the new data, when it comes back into network range during spring migration. We will see. We have to be patient and keep our fingers crossed.

We should have data again during spring migration at the latest. First new data in previous season arrived on 28.03.2022.
